Agree, but if the bystander shot the perp as he fled it might cause him unnecessary legal trouble. All it would take is one perp-sympathetic witness and an overzealous prosecutor. Don't know about Florida law but in most states, once the threat is stopped, you're vulnerable if you shoot. Just my opinion, but I think the bystander made the right choice as Keystone19250 did a while ago.
