Best optics

Best is relative based on your needs and budget.

Most mid-range optics, such as Vortex, and Sig have good glass but it's important to get a reticle that works for you & your conditions.

IMO, many reticles are too fine for use in forested conditions since the fine stadia hash-marks disappear into a vegetated background. Many scopes now-a-days have a illuminating ability but while that may work well in low-light conditions having to turn it on during the middle of the day is a "fail" in my book.

I've found reticles with a combination thicker stadia-lines on the outside with thinner lines in the center works for background conditions where finer lines are difficult to use. There are several manufacturers that offer that combinations..

Recently, I've found/moved to the Sig Sauer optics with these examples/types of reticles.

Also, select a power range that works for your area/conditions, and platform.

Both power range and reticle will vary based on the cost of the optic, based on your budget.

Lastly, fancy reticles are the rage today but if you don't have the capability, skill, and conditions to use them, keep it simple.

Some Sig options.
