The BL-22 was first manufactured in 1969, and the rifle is still in production. A good, clean, used example often brings MSRP or more. Browning has offered a number of special editions.

I've never owned or fired a Browning lever-action, so I can't say for certain, but I feel confident that the modern Henry rimfires would give any other lever-action rifle a run for their money. I don't currently own any .22 lever-actions, but my .357 Magnum Big Boy and Big Boy Carbine are excellent rifles. I'd love to try the Browning, but I don't know anyone who has one.

With 3 different lever gun brands that I own and the BLR is the smoothist ever. Then again there is a big difference in actions. The Marlin (1895) and Rossi (92) are closer in feel. Gotta love those lever guns!
