Calm Is a Skill: How to be the steadiest person in the Room

Calm people become leaders even when leadership is not their job title. They create an emotional foundation that the rest of the group can stand on. And here is the real win. Calm gives you time. Time to think. Time to choose your response. Time to be intentional instead of reactive.

When someone walks in carrying calm, the whole room shifts. People breathe. They collect themselves. They feel anchored.

The Bene Gesserit Litany Against Fear
  • "I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer."
  • "Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration."
  • "I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me."
  • "And when it has gone past, I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
  • Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."

Flexibility: Like a reed bending in the wind, one should not be rigid when confronted with fear, but adapt and yield to it.

I’m always trying to be humble as possible. Knowing my past and how it wasn’t pretty. I promised myself this hobby if I could get it to manageable.

Times it’s not easy to practice when my body feels like it wants to give up (majority of it is my back and swelling).

@Belt Fed

What therapies and adaptations have you used for your condition?
None really, doubt they can do anything for it. it's not bad and worse at times. especially when i use power equipment that vibrates like chainsaws and weed eaters. also after shooting a bucking handgun on large caliber. Yes i use crutches like pistol rest and even trees. lol It's only my right hand that does it and i can't do nothing left handed. Rifles do not bother it, shotguns with buckshot do after a few rounds. The grip angle makes a difference too.
