This is my original post on another forum I'm member of, as I am too lazy to retype it, I too a picture...

I rebuilt a CG M96 into a nice 6.5x55 hunting rifle for a lady friend. It shoots great & she loves it.

I have a Husqvarna M38 in its original mil-spec condition.

Headspace gauges came Friday, so I stripped the bolt and gave the "GO" gauge a spin.
The mismatched bolt will not close on it.
So the mismatched bolt/barrel combo is short chambered.
Next up is a trip to the Smith to have the chamber finish reamed.

Those old 6.5 X 55 Swede’s are shooters. I had a dandy that a friend lusted after until I broke down and sold it to him. Wish I had it back. That old Swede‘ll do pretty much anything a 6.5 Creedmoor will do except fit in a shorter action😊

Dropped the rifle and my headspace gauges off at a shop this morning for finish reaming.
To say I feel like an expectant father is not the truth, as I have no idea what it's like to be an expectant father LOL.
But, I'm anxious to get her back and to the range.

Picked the rifle up this morning, got to watch the test firing before I paid for the services rendered.
Now she takes her place in line to get to the range
