Carrying A Glock 34

So my primary carry has been the Glock 19X but I decided to switch things up and go with a big boy for the last couple of weeks. I’ve used the same holster that I carry the 19X in until my Slimfit holster for the 34 comes in. For reference I’m 5’10 165lbs and I concealed carried the 34 without any problems whatsoever. It wasn’t uncomfortable, and my movements while carrying it wasn’t affected either. Is it practical? That’s up to the owner. Will I continue to carry it? Yes, every now and then.

Just wanted to share my experience with it, anyone else out there are a fan of carrying larger handguns?

Hi,

I carry my XD9 almost exclusively even though I'm also "permitted" to carry Mrs. BassCliff's smaller Kahr CW9. I plan to add a 5" 1911, or 2011, of some sort after I move out of this restrictive state and will carry it. I'm 6'0" at 215lbs so I think I'll be able to carry a larger pistol without issue. In fact, I'm looking forward to it. ;)

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

On occasion I will carry my XDM 45ACP 4.5 barrel in a SafariLand level 3 holster, the holster is basically what law enforcement use so it doesn’t conceal very well however on my wildlife rescue calls I don’t worry about it being covered up.

I carried a 4.5 inch 44 magnum Redhawk a few times concealed, just because. I found that yes, carrying such a large handgun is possible but really, why. They can actually slower to get from concealment than a smaller option can be because of the extra measures the larger weapon needs for concealment, and actually the extra weight and size can be an issue in the draw.

I'm not a compact fan, but own a 4" handgun. Full size from 4.4 - 6"+ for normal carry with a few owb holsters. I like shoulder holsters best and will order some when I find 1 I like. I don't carry normally or seldom do mainly because I hate waist carry. Shoulder or drop (not thigh) is best for me and gun weight is ZERO concern!
