Case design by purpose

Start with an example. Take the 6.5CM and 260Rem and rule out twist, free bore and barrel length. The face and case diameter is much the same, but shoulder angle is steeper than the other. 1 is a tad longer also. What is there too really gain with a shorter case with a greater angle besides seating bullets out further and maybe gaining powder capacity? Ok, now you go too the AI cases( I can't say much about them and if they are really much better than an original case design? Forget load manuals they are bias depending on what bullet manufacturer you're using. How else are they going too make their design it perform the other. Does 1 cartridge over the other have more accuracy by design, well not for the handloader! Look at short mags and what they can/could offer. A short fat case with a tighter powder colume for more complete burn? Many say yes and do it without the greater capacity of long action magnums. Barrel length can be the factor on that half truth. What knowledge or beliefs do any of you have when comparing like calibers and similar cases?

Sports/firearms manufacturers are similar to fashion/auto, and all other products;
they have trained the buying public to want an endless array/choice of products,
and the buying public loves it so the manufacturers flood the market with "new",
"improved" "revolutionary" selections with only minuscule/cosmetic changes.
Customers insatiable appetite for new/more is fed while Corporate stocks rise
and they carry the profits to the bank.
