Competition

Hi,

Do you know anyone who competes in IDPA, USPSA, or IPSC with echelon, whether an influencer or a professional competitor?

In case I haven't yet, let me welcome you to the forum. While I don't know, personally or otherwise, anyone who is currently competing with an Echelon, I have read several articles and reviews proclaiming the competition worthiness of the platform, especially of the 4.5F Comp model. There are mag release and trigger upgrades that coud improve your split times.

I don't compete USPSA odr IDPA but my range has a bowling pin shoot coming up soon. Maybe I'll give it a try with my Echelon 4.5F Comp. ;)

All the best to you and yours.

Thank you for your indulence,

BassCliff

Theres nothing wrong with the various "competitions", just dont think of them as any sort of real world training. Competitions train you for competition, actual training courses (especially force on force courses), train you for the real world

Pieter, you must be a hoot at parties, never good enough right? I joined this forum a year or two ago because it was void of the usual one up stuff that is so prevalent on most forums. You proved that decision wrong. Let me ask you, in your infinite wisdom, can you recomend a forum for the every day run of the mill American guy? You come across as quite condensing and have single handedly convinced me that this forum is not for me. @Bassbob, where you at?

Stick it out SL 66. All the stories are good for a laugh.

If I’m not mistaken, there is NOT one single police academy in the entire United States that has the cadets being shot at with live ammo. They train on handguns with paper, just like everyone else. Even a shoot house for SWAT doesn’t have folks shooting back with LIVE ammo. Soooo, competition can provide real world training on shoot n move, shooting from concealment and rapid transitions tactics. That can be applied real world.

They train on handguns with paper
They also train with Simunitions and Airsoft, thats Force on Force. Guys look I dont care what you do or how you train; but Force on Force looks a hole lot different from a square range AND competitions. Competitions train you for competition. Sure learn what you can from it and certainly have fun with it; but once you look at that paint on your shirt or bruise on your arm and feel the cost of mistakes, scores suddenly dont matter

C’mon, give it a rest. You “apologize” and then infer that people here are ignorant. This my way or the highway attitude you have is so tiresome. Surely you would be more at home dispensing your wisdom on AR-15.com or HKPro.com or did they already run your *** out of town?

Simon you guys slammed me for offering an opinion. I get that you might not agree or even like those thoughts but you seem to be saying you not only dont like them but you dont want me to have them or say them.

I think/thought this was a place for discussion, am I wrong?

Pieter, a guy comes on asking about competition with an Echelon and you launch into your real world skein. That’s not helping, that’s pontificating. I don’t even disagree with what you are saying, but your manner just sucks. Maybe it’s cultural and it’s not coming across as intended in text, but there’s a lot of very smart, very experienced people on this forum who don’t need to be constantly told how to suck eggs.

Ok fair enough I did go off on Force on Force; but who really side tracked the thread? "Mayhaps" this is something we can discuss via PM in the future
