The other day a Dr from NYC came to the conclusion that if folks would just abide by the "do not touch your face" criteria, when out of a sanitary environment, that that would prevent infection.

He said if you're out in public don't touch your mouth, nose and eyes (they are the three infection vectors) with your un-washed hands.

He stated he's neck-deep in the exposure world and that was his conclusion.

I was actually waiting for this to be announced. This is why I’ve been enjoying the rain which purifies the air. Think of this like tiny, tiny pollen floating around however when it rains it knocks the pollen into the ground.

"Could Be Airborne" but then it "Could Not Be Airborne" too...…..
"May Be Possible" vs "May Not Be Possible" ……….
Why not say "We don't know yet" ???

Yes that's true. But I think the article goes beyond saying that not only does a cough or sneeze contains the persons droplets with the virus that only goes out so far (hence the social distancing of 6ft or so), and only stay airborne for a limited amount of time (I think 3 hours). They seem to be suggesting that patients with the virus in the hospital could continue to disperse the virus for longer and greater distances just with normal breathing etc.. They haven't conclusively proved this nor if true, if even the virus is contagious at that point. If I read the article correctly, it's just another thing to potential think about.

Granted. But they make it sound like it's floating in the ambient air like pollen.
Maybe we all need to just stay up wind to be safe!

The DR I heard say that if you're in a room with an infected person there's likely CV in the air. The med persons are wearing face shields, glasses and PPE so they're not in moon suits but are reducing the risk of caching it. And as he said it's touching the face on the eyes, nose & mouth that allows it to get inside.

They've deemed the 6 ft distance as sufficient to prevent spread. If someone sneezes directly at you the risk likely increases even at that distance.

That’s considered droplet. Airborne remains in the air for an extended period of time, droplets settle quickly. It’s a medical splitting of hairs but the distinction is still valid and important.
