We are 500 (ish) feet higher than Colorado Springs. The fog rolled in last night and it got down right chilly. According to my phone it's 59° right now.
Fall has definitely come to the Highlands.

anyway the sign welcoming us to colorado said welcome to the colorful state...it looked just like this pic...brown and dead

well actually you really do have 3 seasons.....'Construction season"......
every spring, the left over orange barrels and cones from the previous construction season, have babies, and more pop up in other locations...just like rabbits...there's no stopping the orange and cone population.....

Lots of Yankees don’t have “libtard ways,” despite the rumors.
We’ve had a tremendous influx the last 10 years of folks retiring here - primarily due to cost of living, less so the weather. Admittedly our local politics do rile some, but new ideas and change can be a good thing. YMMV

It cooled down to the point I don’t feel like I’m on a slow cooker in north central Illinois. I don’t mind the heat but I sleep better in little chillier weather.
I know I sound all yankee on this next comment but I miss going to the range when it’s in the 30’s or 40’s and shooting.
