I am waging war on the mosquitoes from my neighbor's back yard. They have invaded my house and yard.

For those who are living in the skeeter alleys of America, what have you found to work the best, both repellant and killer in the area?

Don't have the issue here yet but I usually spray Off on me when they start coming out. As for the outside not much you can do. We need the rain but without any the bug problem is pretty nil.

I have a couple mosquito hot spots on the ranch. I bought a propane fogger at Lowes years ago that knocks them down fir weeks. My county has a mosquito control program where their mosquito control fogger truck comes down my driveway during darkness about once a month during skeeter season. We can really tell the difference after they have been here. You might check with your county public works folks to see if they can help you with mosquito control.

Eliminate standing water.
If you can attract them , Dragon Flies will take care of mosquitoes and Wasps.
Lowes/Walmart has a yard spray “Cutter Backyard Bug Control ” that will help till the next rain event. It is a pesticide so be careful about spraying on tables and chairs and if you have a pet it needs to dry first a few hours.

We have no standing water in our yard. The neighbor has a junkyard. Think Fred Sanford, only Mexican. Nice, good neighbor, but a pure redneck, no joke.

A junk yard is a good place for them to nest.
Here in NC a lot folks will also put empty gourds up to encourage blue/purple Martin to nest. There may be a bird in your area that likes to eat them.

Contact your municipality to see if they have any control efforts there (many do), so they can do some extra work in your area.

If you don't have screen doors and screens on windows think about installing them.
