Do You Need a "Deep Carry" Clip?

Of much greater consideration is if the knife has tip down carry and if the clip can be changed side to side. Then the clip has to have a deep dip to hold securely in the pocket and the end point downwards or be able to be bent down very low so as to not catch on seatbelts.
Agreed on all counts. Especially the seatbelt thing. It's been more than once my car has tried to steal my knife.

I prefer a knife with a clip but it's not a deal breaker.

What is the deal breaker is I have to be able to carry it tip up in my Left pocket.

But even that is still not a total deal breaker because if I really wanted a knife and I couldn't adjust the clip that way I would just take the clip off and carry the knife in my pocket

For those truly worried about concealment, they should invent a kydex pocket holster (ala Bodyguard) for knives. That way it can always be in the same position, ready to access, 100% concealed.
I like a fixed blade and yes I have several folders. When going the doctors office or visit someone in the hospital I usually use a neck knife. Some years back one of my best friends who has been called home showed my what he called a shoulder holster for a fixed blade. I have a fixed blade that has a kydec sheath, blade is and 5/8 long with hole at the tip of the sheath. The old dog tag chains fit thru it , so you take the chains (2ormore because of chest size) make a figure 8 and slip over shoulders. I wore one of those to the governors ball with no problems and diffinetly out of sight. I do have a small advantage because of dual defibrillator and 28 inches of stainless steel holding my chest together. My son has tried it out.
