It makes me wonder if releasing the slide on an XDe will also damage the hammer?. Springfield told me to use snap caps when dry firing the XDe, so that is what I do.

I read that and forgot just once. Not sure of any damage on one instance but it won’t happen again.

I dont so the spring thing... i’d replace them every 3 month or so on my .45’s.
Thats not happening . I’ll replace them when I see an issue

I wouldn’t worry about the XDE...completely different trigger mechanisms.

But it’s not a bad habit to get into with all firearms, either.
