If you can find the 4.0 with a gear up package(extra mags included) you’re probably money ahead to just buy another pistol.
What is a "gear up" package?

Usually, you get a range bag, 3 mags, sometimes a red dot, just depends on the current promotion

From SA’s website you’ll have $600 dollars in a 4.0 barrel, slide and recoil spring with three 15 round flush fit mags. Plus the compact grip module. And you’ll still have to dick around changing your COG back and forth between guns. If you look around you can probably find the gear pac for $650ish on sale.

To turn the 4.5 into a 4.0, you'd also need a new barrel, new slide, along with the compact grip module.

Ah! That is actually how I got my 4.5. 4 mags and a red dot.
