I just received my Spring 2025 (Vol.39-Issue 2) issue of the GCA (Garand Collectors Association) Journal. An article (pgs. 22-26) describes a visit to Faxon Firearms in Fairfield, OH, where they discussed Faxon making and providing barrels to CMP for installation on to rifles.
While Criterion barrels have been available through CMP, Faxon is a new supplier. The article did say that the new Faxon production.."resulted from a need to fill a hole in the market and provide CMP with barrels they need to complete rifles for sale to customers".
Seperate barrels will likely be available to the public from CMP. and Faxon direct some time soon.
Whether these Faxon M1G barrels will be used for the new CMP M1 Garand rifles was not discussed but one can wonder.
I'm sure by the time Camp Perry starts more info will come up.
