Depending on the political/cultural affiliations we may not hear much about it; unless, of course the left can exploit the actions of those who foiled the attack to make the criminal into a "victim".
Certain elements of our society see churches, especially Christian ones, as targets of opportunity. Actions taken against a would be perpetrator of violence at a house of worship should not be considered criminal, regardless of how they unfold. Maybe they shouldn't have shot him, but, then again, maybe he shouldn't have tried to shoot them.
Of course, should we discover he was a member of the "religion of peace" the narrative will change. Sadly, that is because they are a protected class of people.
