well to defend my sailors
on my 1st cruise to the red sea back when moses had just gone on vacation and we had water
we had two F14s go slip sliding into a hangar elevator door frame.. deck non skid gets uber slick from oils, wear etc
that little spotting tractor cant keep up if jet wants to roll and brake rider is not johnny on the spot getting on the brakes to stop the plane
i say dam lucky they only lost the tractor and jet, that means the dude or dudette in the cockpit got unbuckled and jumped out pretty darn fast or was not doing their job and feet on brakes
but truman has had some dam bad luck
i add this to leadership and the NEW navy where no one is really on thier game and take it serious.. to busy surfing the net and playing fan room games.

the sec def needs to start pulling back old farts into all services and have some get back to basics leadership and army, navy, marine, air force training as it was

truman already ran into a container ship WTF??? ten people on watch and no body saw it was going to be an issue, even in the massive packed red sea. not to mention the 12 or so on watch down in the combat center...they see EVERYTHING.
very thank full no persons were lost over the side,

The Container ship ran into the "Truman" from behind & hit (grazed) the rear starboard side in the staging area for entry into the canal.

Getting hit from behind is not "ran into".

The Container ship has a "rep" for running into other ships.

IMO, former CO didn't deserve to be relieved for the "Truman" being sucker-punched by the foreign-operated ship in a crowded staging area.
