I had a 10/22 Sporter years ago, a nice rimfire rifle.

My first firearm. From back when they were made with Walnut stocks. Still have it. Followed by a Ruger Standard Target Model when I was 11 or 12. It was a different time back then. The 10/22 is still my recommendation for anyone that asks me about a 22 rifle. Ruger even makes a single shot magazine for training purposes now. My old man just gave me one shell at a time until he was comfortable that I was safe. It was a big day for me when I had been hunting long enough with Pop to actually go out with his friends. That was when I knew I was all grown up!
