Happy Flag day!

It was on this day in 1777 that the Continental Congress adopted a resolution stating that "the flag of the United States be thirteen alternating stripes red and white" and that "the Union be thirteen stars, white in a blue field, representing a new Constellation", making it official.

If you have a colonial (Betsy Ross) flag, today is the day fly it! The colonial flag IS still a living, valid, official US flag and can be flown anytime, but I like to fly mine starting from Flag Day until July 5th.
