Hitler did this as a last resort because he was running out of men due to combat losses and capture. I don't see Iran suffering such massive losses even with an intense air and naval campaign. Last time I checked the Basij had 1 million over what the regular army had. Of course, they may be suffering from huge desertion losses.

Besides it looks worse to the world if it’s “children” being killed vs “soldiers”. Those people will gladly kill off their own if they can convince the world somebody else actually did it. I don't understand why we don't bomb the enormous pro-government rallies in Iran. I really don't care if the participants are forced to attend or not.
