Just changed the blackstrap on my new XDM, just a few taps? Not even close, was not sure I’d even get it out or back in.

Wow, that's a lot of difference, hammer or not!
Didn't even use a hammer on XDM's backstrap pin, just a punch and good push on a sturdy surface.
- Guessing that's the emperors invisible hammer method?
....and, surprisingly pin has stayed put since. Go figure?

I changed the back strap on my Glock, a couple taps it was out and back in.Wow, that's a lot of difference, hammer or not!

The XDM I had to pound on it. Push it out with punch by hand? Absolutely no way.
^ Must be a unique tolerance issue.......
I've changed all 4 of mine (two full-size, two Compacts - one of the full-size is from the NRA-crest era, the two Compacts both c.2011, and the last full-size after they switched the cocking serration pattern) just as @BobM did, by pushing through with a handheld punch.
