In the day, our cav squadron was essentially a Div 86 TOE which had both ground and air cav troops. Our aeroscouts had the OH-58C. Our pilots (a few of them VN vets) by far preferred the OH-6 and variants over the Kiowa.

I’ve heard that, with no pilot ever saying they preferred the OH-58.

I have heard that some generals preferred the OH-58 because they felt it was more dignified-looking as befitting their lofty status. Fine, let them have them.
