I Got Lucky, But this is Insane!

Ok so over Memorial Day weekend I purchased a CZ 75 D PCR I heard great reviews and wanted a compact carry with a decocker. So I purchased it over the weekend at a discount price (Memorial Day Sale) and picked it up at the store this past Thursday. The guy at the counter said I got an amazing deal on this, and I had no idea what he was talking about since it was just a 5% discount because of the holiday. I got home and out of curiosity I looked up the price...What the Heck????!!! As you can see from my photos, I paid under $600 for it (before tax), now that same pistol is $819!!!! I know I got lucky there, but a $200 uptik in price?? That's outrageous. Are other firearms going up that much as well for you all?

Hi,

Congrats on the new shootin' iron. Nice unit.

I've purchased a few firearms from my LGS becasue they stay pretty close to MSRP. Once in a while they'll have a special sale or a used gun I'm interested in. If the price is within, oh say, $50 to $100 of the online prices, then I will buy local. I really do try to support local mom-n-pop shops. But I can't justify paying $200 more for the same merchandise.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

A quick look on the net finds them from 600 up to about 750. Did not see anything at 800.

Nice pistol, if they came with rail and optics ready I would have bought one or the P01 over the sig .
I also heard that CZ is only shipping fewer firearms, thus making the product scarce. I also heard from the people at my local gun shop that some companies are doing this on purpose to promote their newer line of firearms (which is CZ's case the Shadow 2 Carry is around $1300). I just really think that the price hike of $200 is a bit hard to swallow.

Yeah, within a difference of $50 to $100 is very fair in my opinion. I just hope firearms companies in general don't take this drastic of a step in price hike.

Nice addition, that’s one gun of many never owned or shot, congrats! Good price also!

I like CZ but truthfully didn’t get totally into their stuff. I had a hard time finding magazines for my P10C when I originally got it.
Yeah I agree, I found lots of aftermarket parts for this pistol (Cajun Gun Works, Amazon, etc) but I swear specific level 2 retention holsters are rare to find or you have to pay a lot for them. I settled on a Bulldog Universal OTB Holster, it works really well, but since its a universal model, the holster itself is very large.
