Kuna brace recommendation...

Hello,

After looking all over I found and bought the new Springfield Kuna, but all the brace ones were sold out, so I got a braceless one figuring to get an aftermarket brace.

I did a Google search and got good recommendations but before I make a purchase decision kinda want to hear what people in the know might think, like most of you.

Any aftermarket recommendations for a brace? I'm also looking to add a stop plate up front, kinda can't believe they didn't include one. All my AR pistols and my Sig MPX did, oh well.

Thanks in advance. Attached is a pic of my new baby, along with one I found online. Like that brace but no clue what it is, if anyone knows.

Thx.

I have the strike industries stabilizer brace on mine. it will fold both ways. the pic shows the stock which i immediately took off as it is illegal and ordered the stabilizer. i also have a Hawke 4x prism sight that i love on it.

Yeah, that's the one that comes with the Kuna if you order the model with a brace (like I did and I'm still waiting ). It looks like a good brace after I looked it up on the Strike Industries website.

Not sure what that is in your 2nd picture.
Be careful and make certain you buy a brace and Not a stock.
You don’t want to create an SBR NFA item without going through the proper process.
It appears to be in stock here.

Myself and some people at the range all say the same thing. Not sure how they are calling that a brace 😂

Hi Magnum, congrats on the Kuna (y). The picture you show has a Stock (not a brace) and a vertical fore grip, thus making it a SBR (Short Barrel Rifle), requiring ATF Paperwork and $200 tax stamp. Throw in more paperwork and another $200 for the suppressor on it (as the laws are currently written). As I and other posters have mentioned, the brace that SA is shipping with the Kuna (you can get it with the brace or without), is the Strike Industries brace you can either see/get from them or potentially other online places like Midway USA, Optics Planet, Brownells, A3 Industries, etc.
As another poster mention, be careful not to get a stock as braces and stocks are getting more and more difficult to discern. Read descriptions carefully, and you could always call the vendor to ensure it's a brace if that's what your after. I believe the Strike Industries brace has a removable end piece (part with the strap) that you can replace with another end piece that makes it a stock (part that's also sold by Strike Industries and perhaps others). If that was installed, it would make the Kuna a SBR.
I'm sure there are other braces for the Kuna available from the places listed previously, perhaps even SB Tactical has a brace for the Kuna available already . Good luck in your search.

While I'm here... was looking to put a green dot on top but I have a $1200 ACOG I bought then replaced for one of my AR's... it's just sitting in the closet, too big and unnecessary for a PDW like this Kuda? Opinions? Thx.
For most of my PCCs, I throw a Sig Romeo 5 on them (I bought a bunch of Romeo 5's a while back, and just throw them on when I get another PCC or short pistol in rifle caliber (like 300 BLK)). One of the Romeo 5s I had was a Green dot, so I know Sig makes them. Holosun also makes Green dot optics and I now have a few on some of my pistol handguns.

Holosun makes the Romeo 5. There is a Holosun version of it as well. I’ve not seen a Romeo 5 in green. The gen 2 look pretty good.

Right you are Bob, it is a Romeo MSR that’s the green dot (they also come in red). Besides the Romeo 5, I also have several Romeo MSRs (mostly in red), that are less costly than the 5s

Just a thought here. I’d also urge you to verify it’s a “Brace” vs stock. Plus, if it was mine, I’d get a copy of the paperwork clearly showing it IS a brace and keep it in the case you carry it in. What you Don’t need is the hassle of shooting your new toy only to have some Karen claim it’s an SBR😏. The whole brace vs stock SBR vs Pistol thing is pretty stupid but it IS the law and you do not need to get ATF on your butt.
