It has been a long time since I used a biometric safe but today I received one for Father's Day from my daughter. I remember the terrible time I had trying to use my thumb print to open and I talked to a old friend who was a gunsmith/ dealer and told him my problem and he told to use my off hand. He then explained why, Your dominit hand has more ware and and abuse so use your off hand thumb and fingers and he bet it would work better (more consistent) and put your didget in different places as you should have 3 or more times on the same digit. Probably most of you are aware of that but I just thought of it being my daughter just bought me one of the electronic wonders so I will wait till tomorrow morning before I set it up and by waiting till tomorrow I will have more patience

many of the safes have a key backup for the combo pad. Just use that if available.

Sometimes at zero dark 30 I have a hard time finding that key even if I think I know where it's at.

I have a biometric safe and it works remarkably well. It even has an external battery backup that I can plug in if the batteries ever die - which has not happened in the several years I’ve been using it.
