6/30 - range visit test - Maxim Defense - Roller Delayed System.....installed in an Angstadt Arms UDP-9 -
https://maximdefense.com/product/244978/
"By using our RDB system, you’ll experience a drop-in fix for your AR-9 buffer weight issues."
Well - not exactly "Drop in." You do need to remove the weight in your AR9 Bolt Carrier. Punch out the roll pin and it slides out the rear end.
I ran 180 rounds of 124gr FMJ rounds through it today. Ran single shots, binary/"spray & pray, and double taps. Not one hiccup. It ran all 180 rounds smoothly. Ran it in an Angstadt Arms UDP-9. Prior to installing the RDS, I was having some issues with it cycling too rapidly with the binary trigger and the spring/buffer I was running. This device did save me experiminents with buffer weights/spring to make it run effectively.
I had read these were harder to charge that the regular AR9 blowback. Some online were saying it was so hard that they were returning theirs. That was not my experience. It was a little harder to charge but not enough for me to go back to buffer/springs. I did put a Radian Raptor charging handle on it that gives more to grab onto vs. the reg AR charging handle.
I will keep this configuration as it is working well for me. Once my suppressor get out of "jail" - we'll see how it runs suppressed.
Target was at 15yards.
