An incredibly rare white bison calf has been photographed in Yellowstone National Park, exciting Native American tribes who view its arrival as a religious prophecy heralding major change.

It was spotted in the Lamar Valley area of the park, making it the first white bison to be born from the last wild herd in the US, according to modern records.

I read this article a couple days ago and it seems this particular buff is very special in that it's not an albino, but a true white coated buff, with black nose and eyes. The albinos are special, but not like the black nosed ones. It's a pretty interesting story regarding the 'white buffalo woman' and her prophecies, and how she then turns from a beautiful Indian woman into a true white buffalo. It's a good read!!!!
