New boots

Sld1959

Ronin
Just got the first new pair of boots since I retired 3 years ago. Used to buy a new pair for work, and every day use each year and move the old ones to work boots. But have not had to do it.

No, not the best boot or most expensive I have ever bought but I really like them. Comfortable and good for 4 seasons. Waterproof, light and cool in summer, add wool socks and moneyworth felt arctic insoles and I use them in all but the coldest weather like ice fishing.

My feet be all duded up today.

What brand ?

I worked as a security guard for 15 years.

For about half of that time I worked at a Propane storage facility on the edge of town.

After about 3 years of wearing out a cheap pair of Walmart boots every year, I decided I wanted a good pair of boots.

After trying 2 or 3 different pairs I found a pair of Belleville "Duty Boots" on Ebay I kept them for 4 years and resoled them twice before I got rid of them.

I bought 2 more pairs of Bellevilles that wore until the day I retired.

I walked about 9 miles every night at work. Off road, up and down stairs.

Two tallest buildings in Colorado Springs and I had to walk up the stairs in both of them twice a night.

Now I live here and walk 7 miles a day in the same boots and they hold up to it.

You can't resole them?
I imagine they could be resoled. I’d have to find someone to do it. But as long as the company I work for gives me $325/year for boots I don’t really have any motivation to do so. You gotta figure I get a new pair every year but I keep wearing the current pair for 2-3 years. So I have a few pairs, brand new in a closet. Plus boots in the trunk of every vehicle I own.
