New Glock model, sort of....

As we all know Glock has consistently been on the cutting edge of advanced features on each subsequent generations of their various handgun models.

Now, Glocks leaps ahead again in partnership with Lipsey's offering a "new" model for those that missed the earlier release, or weren't born yet.

The Gen 5 17L was announced iver a year ago. With the popularity of MOS and red dot stuff it and the 34/35 sort of lost favor.

When it was introduced this meme came out and made me laugh as that’s exactly what you think of

Hi,

The article did a good job at making a dull but unique pistol sound boring and exciting at the same time. I also found this race version of the 17L appealing in a Glock sort of way.

I'm definitely not a Glock fan but I do have a Gen5 17L in my one-of-each collection. I wanted only one Glock and the 17L was wacky enough to fit my personality. It's one of my favorite range toys. I actually like the trigger but I'll be upgrading the sights soon. Mine has the optic cut and the stippling is grippy enough. IIRC, this particular model has been discontinued. That probably explains the blowout price ($499) at GAG. Even this old noob does pretty well with the iron sights at 15 yards.

Hmm, I just checked GAG and they are still for sale at $529 but glock.com has it on their discontinued list.

Anyway, I think it's a very decent pistol worth having. But I digress. ;)

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff
