New Gun Safe For The Vehicle

@BassCliff, from some of your other posts on the forum, I have seen you drive a Ram 1500 pickup. Maybe some of these locking, security containers might work in your truck.
I’ve been using these for >10 years in 2 different trucks. Serious lock boxes, nothing is absolute but a guy isn’t going to grab this without a plan.

Hi,

Thanks guys.

That looks like a workable solution for my vehicle, cheaper too.

That's what I'm using now. Occasionally I will visit someone in the hospital, or go some other place with a metal detector, so I store it there temporarily. But a bolt cutter would make the Hornady lock box pretty easy pickens. I've been keeping my eye out for something a little more robust. I appreciate you guys sharing your thoughts.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff
I used the lock box that builds inside the console of a jeep for many years. Safe and pretty darn secure

I have RAM 2500, and have been wanting to do this also.
They are an investment no doubt. I’ve jammed 5 scoped bolt guns in mine, using socks for a cushion. Western hunting trips with a couple hotels convinced me that something should be done, armloads of rifles going through the lobby just draws unwanted attention as far as I’m concerned.

Off season it holds those emergency supplies that you don’t want becoming projectiles in an accident. They cost roughly as much as a good scope ( <VX5 ) that sees a serious 8 seconds of use a year 😉.
