Number of Guns Needed for an "Arsenal" in the U.K.?

This article appeared on my news feed. The "Arsenal" this Iowa man had in his Chicago hotel room consists of one H&K carbine clone and one semi-auto pistol. If that counts as an arsenal, then I have no idea what the Brits would call my collection.

Thanks for posting UK variation of story wmg,
Was interesting. Had read the US version earlier. UK version was an interesting twist on and from US version that had no mention of marriage proposal mentioned when read. The person, weapons, most other circumstances and where, yes. On the UK version, may need to remember firearms are pretty much outlawed in the UK to average citizen and likely not too well understood by many? Especially some terminology use like "Arsenal" to possibly over glorify whatever?

The way it sounds in UK version is like some strange romance novel. The Brit's are also fairly well known for twisting angles and stories making them a bit wilder than reality too? Benny Hill Fairy tales come to mind as well as a few other UK story tellers? Maybe where some of the US media get it from? :) Soon, it may be like the storybook fable of the little boy crying "wolf" where he eventually gets eaten by it when everyone around ignores him?

No, that was no embellishment. Both the mayor and superintendent called it an arsenal. What they eluded to, was that he had a .308 high powered rifle and 5 loaded mags as well as the loaded 45. What they failed to mention was, that it was a pistol length homebuilt pistol vs a factory firearm with the serial number removed. They also charged him with possession without a FOID. He's not a resident in the state. He doesn't need a FOID. What happened to the rights you have in one state, you have in all? Chicago makes it up as they go. They got their headlines, they're costing some poor bastard a fortune and in the end, they're gonna lose this mess and have to pay for unlawful search and seizure as well as the hotel should be sued for invading the couple's privacy.

I'm as outraged as the next guy believe me. At a minimum though you have to question the wisdom and judgement of Mr. Casteel. That Illinois is a nightmare for gun laws is not a secret. So taking an AR and propping it up on a window ledge of a hotel room that overlooked holiday party goers and evidently leaving it there while he was out for hotel maids to see while he was gone ( I never have had a single instance where housekeeping came into my hotel room. They have signs to put on the door for that) was either monumentally stupid or this whole thing is a stunt of some kind.

This definitely smells of stunt.
