Most of us are familiar with Dot Torture, an excellent practice/assessment drill originally devised by David Blinder, then popularized by the late Todd Green. Here is an abbreviated 25 round version, that takes less time and ammo. We will shoot it at 5 yards.
DOT Torture, 25 round version – Follow these instructions, not those printed on the target --
(String number – procedure – number of repetitions – cumulative round count)
#1 -1 round from the ready - 3X (3)
#2 - 2 rounds from the ready - 1X (5)
#3 & #4 - 1 round on each, from ready - 2X (9)
#5 - 5 rounds, from the holster - 1X (14)
#6 and #7 - 2 rounds on each, from the holster - 1X (18)
#8 - 2 rounds Dominant Hand Only, from ready - 1X (20)
#9 - 2 rounds Non-dominant Hand Only, from ready - 1X (22)
#10 - Start with only 1 round in the gun, empty magazine inserted, at ready. Fire 1 round, conduct an emergency reload, and fire 2 rounds (25)
