Officers Down in America

Absolutely dangerous, with emotions and violence already out of control before you get the call. As usual the shooter will turn out to be a lifelong waste of oxygen.
I put as much blame on the top brass who are willing to sacrifice an officer/deputy to keep their job. Not sure how many “gotcha” divisions LAPD has now, but they will put your life under a microscope to prove you were wrong and to increase their body count of good cops. With that thought in mind, how many EOW personnel hesitated just a little too long and paid the penalty for that delay?

Sad but true if you're worried about a lawsuit being fired and/or prosecuted. I was only in law enforcement 12 years several decades ago would not choose that career today.

I am more concerned with the state of training with respect to the approach to danger. So many of these officers are being shot on arrival. You know you are going to a gun domestic, why in hell would you drive up/walk up to the house without doing some recon? I wasn't there, and I know it seems harsh to second guess the officers who are victims, but if you don't cast a critical eye you are destined to make the same mistakes again.
