+P for Mil Spec

It has probably been discussed, but being new here, I don't see it in recent past....

Can +P be fired, safely, in Springfield 1911 Stainless Mill Spec? Would'nt use it all the time, mainly to get used to it, and then home defense, etc.

I wouldn’t worry about it, if you’re just going to shoot a magazine or two to confirm function, and then use it for carry...burning a mag from time to time to keep it fresh.

if you are planning on running a steady dirt, you might want to get heavier springs, and possibly heavier magazine springs.

Thank you --- As sugessted, probably will try a few to see how it handles then, then a couple of mags will be kept full during carry, for defense.
