Questions: Suppressors and Springs

Neubs

Alpha
Howdy. Bottom Line: Where may I go (what forums exist?) to gain info on pistol Suppressor-use, the need to use different recoil springs when shooting suppressed and maybe some chat on bullet weight?

Status: I expect ATF approval for my Banish 45 Suppressor soon - ATF has had my paperwork for 12 months now. I have three pistols with threaded barrels: Nighthawk Customs 'Silent Hawk' in .45 ACP, Walther PDP 4.5" full size with 5.1" Walther threaded barrel, and Sig P320 Compact (9mm) with Sig threaded barrel. All three shoot great, unsuppressed with FMJ and JHP ammo.

When I received the Walther barrel, instructions and a different recoil spring were included with direction to install the new spring for suppressed use. And to switch back to the OEM spring when not using the suppressor. I'd like to learn if I need new springs for the NH .45 and the Sig P320.

Can any of you offer a vector on where to go for these questions and likely more. For example: generally, subsonic rounds use heavier bullet weights. What happens when shooting supersonic rounds through a semi-auto with suppressor? I know, noise. But I'm also wondering about pressures and semi-auto cycling reliably.

Thanks.

You could always check with the manufacturer of the suppressor or firearms to see if any additional parts are needed for proper function.

Suppressors should work fine in most firearms without any modifications needed.

Note:

The Banish includes a piston mount which assists with proper function of a non fixed barrel firearm.

You will need a fixed barrel spacer made for your Banish to use on fixed barrel firearms to avoid damage.

SilencerShop.com has a lot of good info on suppressor's.
