Made it back to the range to today to send some more 9mm downrange to continue to insure reliability of the SFX9 3.25, especially with self-defense HP loads. Today was 50 rounds of Winchester 124g NATO FMJ, 50 rounds of Winchester 147g Ranger T BHP, and 50 rounds of Freedom Munitions X-Def 135g +P HP.

Usual drill (on a side note, I have some stick-on Dot Torture targets coming to try something different).

3 yds - 5 rounds ea right and left shoulder, slow fire
5 yds - 10 rounds center, fast as possible with targeting
7 yds - 10 rounds center, fast as possible with targeting
15yds - 5 rounds center, slow fire
3 yds - 5 strings of 2 to center, 1 to head, fast as possible with targeting

First up was the Winchester 124g NATO FMJ. About as expected.

Next up was the 147g Winchester Ranger T BHP. I could tell it’s been a while since I’ve shot anything but 124g. I was going to take the easy way out and move the 15yd shots up to 10 yds but figured I might as well try. I always seem to shoot high at 15 yds, though I swear I’m aiming a bit above center (breastbone). At least I kept them on the target.

Last up was the Freedom Munitions X-Def 135g HP. I used a new target as I’ve thought about this being my carry ammo in this gun. After this, I seem to shoot the 124g HST +P better, so I’ll likely stick with it for carry. Or, someday Freedom Munitions will have an awesome sale, I’ll stock up and practice with the 135g X-Def.

This target was up through the 15 yd shots. I wanted to keep the high 15 yd shots separate from anything I might shoot high in the strings of 2/1. Chin, Traps, and Thorax were at 15 yds and the fifth round was probably highest hit in one of the lungs. But at least on target.

And after adding the strings of 2/1 to end today’s range session. Definitely different shooting the 135g (and 147g) over the 124g. If I were to permanently change to one of those weights, I will definitely practice with those weights a lot more. For now, 124g HST it will be.

And, on a super positive note, now 405 rounds of various brands, weights, bullet types downrange through the SFX9 3.25 without any feeding or extraction issues whatsoever. I have full confidence in it as an EDC, as well as the Trijicon Type 2 optic, which is just as tight in the slide as the day I took delivery.
