Hi guys,
This will not be my normal range report. Greg, former Marine @ Desert Storm, and I went out to the range yesterday. He's normally a long gun guy, does a lot of hunting and fishing, hunts with a bow too. It's been a while since he's worked out with any pistols. I took a small selection of mine so we could have a little fun. We shot my XD45 Mod.2 Tac, Glock 17L, XD9 Mod.3, and then put a few rounds through my Ruger Mark IV Target.
Here's Greg with the XD45.
With the G17L.
Here are a couple of my XD45 targets.
We were dumping the whole mag in the targets. You know I normally do 10-shot strings but we were just having fun. Greg did OK with a bunch of strange guns. Unfortunately, his targets were even worse than mine.
Here are a couple of my G17L targets.
Here's Greg shooting the XD9 Mod.3, my only optic pistol.
Here are a few of my XD9.3 targets. You can tell Greg was doing better because of fewer tape patches all over the B-8.
We saved these targets for last. I dumped just one magazine on this one.
Then we patched it up and did some plinking with it using the Mark IV. I did pretty good with the 3" circles on top.
It was quick work to shoot all the guns, put holes in everything, and run out of ammo. We packed up our kit and met the ladies, had a late lunch, and took a walk down by the river.
We dropped them at O'Hare early this morning. They had been in Illinois for a family reunion. They made time for a quick visit but good to see old friends. Next time we will travel to their place in Virginia.
I hope everyone enjoyed their Labor Day weekend. Now, let's get back to work!
Blessings to all.
Thank you for your indulgence,
BassCliff
