Hey howdy hey!
I took a break from yard work today and made a quick trip to the range to shoot just a couple of my favorites. I got my favorite lane #6 and brought the VP9, XD45, and just a couple of targets to practice with.
My freedom seeds consisted of 100 rounds of 124 grain S&B and 50 rounds of 230 grain LAX Ammo .45.
I got an email notification that my four free VP9 magazines were on their way but had not received them yet. Probably tomorrow. I started with the XD45 Mod.2 Tactical at 10 yards. I (tried to) put ten hits on each bullseye. I guess I was in the neighborhood.
Yes, I was rushing. I had to make this a quick session because of other commitments. But I guess that's one way to put a little duress into the practice. To finish up that box of .45 I patched up the silhouette with a B-8 and another 4" circle and got 10 hits on each, for the most part.
OK, close enough for a glam shot.
Now let's move on to the VP9. I filled up these magazines with 15 rounds each and tried to put them all on the targets. There are just two or three that are totally out of the ball park.
Let's stick on a couple more targets and put 15 rounds on them again. I guess this is a little better.
Since I did pretty well chewing out the bullseye on the upper target, here's a glam shot.
OK, fifteen more rounds in both of my two magazines to send downrange. I shot these at a pretty good clip. You can see my group spread a bit.
That leaves ten rounds of 9mm left for this session. I sent my favorite target out to 10 yards so that I could end on a strong note.
Well, drat. I hit everything BUT the bullseye. Still, all were in or very close to the 10 ring. How about one more glam shot?
And that was one of the quickest range sessions I've ever had. I ran home so Mrs. BassCliff and I could have supper before a meeting she had scheduled for adult stuff. She's good about that. I was thinking about renting a Glock 17 but didn't really have time today. I'll have to put that fun off for another day. I just want to see what all the fuss is about. I'll let you know.
