Removing the multi-port brake from the Kuna

Does anyone have advice on removing the multi-port brake from the Springfield Kuna? Is there loctite and needs heating? or a good tool to help remove?

It's on tight use a 18mm wrench I had to use an extender on the wrench to get it off pretty easy and it will pop off

Just for me @Belt Fed i was thinking, find the right socket and lefty-loosey/righty-loosey the brake off, would work since in the pics of the Kuna the tip is hex... and your fancy wrench extension tool is cool... anytime i or my people needed extra "strength" we use longer tools or pipes to add strength...

Won't work, it is not hexagon. looks like it but it's not. i tried the other end of the wench first and it would not go on. but with the extender it came off easy.

It is a hex just not one that will fit a socket.

LOL, I went and took it off soon as i seen this thread. was going to anyway as i hate brakes. probably coulda got it off with just the wrench but why strain.

Literally just finished figuring this out…..Pipe wrench got it fairly easy.

Did you guys use a barrel vise or did you just secure it by the hand guard and start twisting? I don’t wanna screw up the barrel.

I just laid it flat and held down with one hand and then a pipe wrench. Didn’t seem to put excessive torque on anything and haven’t seen any issues.

Don’t be afraid to use some heat, a I have a small torch for soldering, or lighting the occasional stogie.
18mm open end wrench, and it was pretty easy work…

I got it off thanks to everybody. I’m gonna run a linear comp until my suppressor comes in.
