While a flat clip is more compact it is not as convenient and fast as a round speed loader

Agreed. I have both, Bianchi speed strip and J-Clip-R.

When I carried revolvers for duty I had speedloaders on my belt but always carried a speed strip in my shirt pocket in the event I needed to do a tactical reload of less than 6.

When I infrequently carry my K6S, I carry one rubber 6rd speed strip and a 5 Star aluminum speed loader.
