If I was going to get a rifle like this in a handgun caliber, I would go with a .44mag, just me

They've offered the 44 mag since they came out with the Trapper or SBL, the last few years.

Go to Marlin's site to see the models the have in 44 mag.

I have the Classic mode with the slim lever which is a bit constraining when wearing gloves.
Understand, I was just saying if I wanted a rifle like that, I would just get the .44, not a 10mm, while I like the 10mm and have a couple, it’s really over rated with today’s ammo selection, unless you can find Buffalo Bore ammo, nobody near me carries it, and I don’t do online stuff myself

Stopped by my LGS today and while Marlin says the new model is shipping they checked and none of their distributors have them yet.

Would make a good partner rifle with any 10mm handgun (semi-auto or revolver), and the LGS thinks the new 10mm 1894 would sell well in our Region.

My Marlin 1886 in 45/70 kicks like a mule.
IIRC the only up to this point ammo I've shot in 45-70 in frontier. Shot it in both the sbl and cb. Neither kicked like a mule. I haven't handloaded for it yet. 10mm lever looks sweet, but so far I'll stop at 44mag on the lower end. If i didn't have a 44mag then I'd consider 1. Great for those who already have a 10 in a handgun and want to keep the same cartridge in a rifle.

A lot of 10mm fans don’t know it care they have anemic ammo compared to the Norma 10mm of the 89’d.

And those that are a little too pro 19mm have to point out BB or Double Tap which like uiu mention is difficult to get for some folks OR some don’t mess with ordering ammo they want to be able to but it off the shelf.

That said with the popularity of 10mm this is probably aimed at those to get a matching caliber rifle for that Glock 20 S&W 610 or 1911

My 357 Marlin does everything for me though but good luck to them!
