S&W CSX-E series

Anybody have any experience with the next evolution of the S&W CSX-E series? I handled the first gen version when it first came out and was unimpressed. I really wanted to like it but it didn’t right. The safety was unusable and the trigger was not what i expected (false reset).
It seems like S&W listened and made some changes. Just curious if anybody had a chance to check one out.

I have the original, but would like to know if the next gen trigger can be installed. No one seems to know. Honestly, I haven't shot it much, but I would like a better trigger. Since then I have accumulated a bunch of hammer fired guns, We shoot more cowboy arms than modern guns than anything else.

It has a grip panel extension making it the size of a midsize. It is real nice looking. All i need is $$.

the frame size isn't the concern, it's the barrel/slide length. using grip extensions on the mag takes care of the short grip.

It has a the 3.6” barrel too. Granted it’s not a 5” barrel.

I had a guy come in for a class with one a couple years ago like a week after release. While I wil say it was nicely built it didn’t do anything for me. I will say it ran fine was accurate and well made just wouldn’t be something I would run in that size range. As I have an original M&P9c with 12 round mag that I never carry it’s stashed for a home invasion gun or my wife Carry’s it when driving to the Daughters 3 hours away.

The new one just doesn’t interest me either. I might have a look if they have a bigger one with a longer grip do say a 15 round mag and a 4 1/4” barrel like the Wilson Combat SFT9

I had a chance to handle the new CSX. Smith listened. The trigger is really nice. Has a positive reset and crisp break. The safety is actually usable. I was quite impressed. Slide is ready for an optic, which i may be interested in. Now if i only had $669 plus tax.
