I like the butt stock attachment on the other side. Holds the rear stock closer to my chest. Especially with shotguns.I keep all my attachment point on the same side. Don't like the cross-over method.
But try both to see what works for you.

I almost never attach to the stock anymore.I like the butt stock attachment on the other side. Holds the rear stock closer to my chest. Especially with shotguns.
I also dislike single point slings except for unbraced pistols.
Thanks, the M-Lok QD mount is what I was looking for. I saw the other QD attach spots on rifle but was looking for a way to put one on the front left of hand guard.Add two MLOK QD ling mount to your support side on the handguard. One out front & the other just ahead of the back end of the handguard.

Get a Vickers 221 sling with the sewn-in standard QD push-button sling loops.
Then you can use the sling as a 2-piece & one-piece sling using the end plate QD sling socket, the stock attachment point & the two on the handguard to give you multiple positions for use as a 2/1-piece set-up.

I have MS-1s ( two point) on my carbines and an MS-4 ( single point ) on my pistol. The pistol has an end plate QD.I almost never attach to the stock anymore.
99% of the time I use a receiver end plate QR point & then the two forward QR point spaced fore & aft on the handguard.
I want the stock to be free for placement as needed.
I like the Vickers (described above) & MS4 slings for quick & easy length adjustment.
I tried the MS3 clamp type but quickly disliked that type & went the QR sock approach.
No same side, one out front & the second at/near the rear end of the handguard.I have MS-1s ( two point) on my carbines and an MS-4 ( single point ) on my pistol. The pistol has an end plate QD.
Quick adjust is a must. All my shotguns wear Vickers padded slings.
What do you mean by the 2 forward QR spaced fore and aft ? Are you switching sides ( ambidextruous) ?
Most of my shotguns have large capacity and are not light and the padded Vickers is exceptional. I was actually going to buy a regular Vickers for my first AR, but then I ran across the MS-1 for like $30 and thought I'd try it. As light as an AR is they work well. And BFG stuff is not cheap so I just kept buying the Magpuls for the ARs.No same side, one out front & the second at/near the rear end of the handguard.
Some handguards now have built in socket points at both locations. But I like the rear handguard one alittle forward of the handguard rear.
I have some padded but most are not.
Once you go to an end plate attachment point you'll likely never go back. QD end plates go on everything ARish when doing the inevitable upgrades if they don't have them as standard. Most of my shotguns have large capacity and are not light and the padded Vickers is exceptional. You do have me thinking now about throwing a QD endplate on the new one, just in case. I never tried attaching it that way. Doesn't the butt stock want to drop out away from you ?
I run mine the same way.Wow, loaded question lol! I attach to the far side of the stock, directly over the shoulder down to the near side of the handguard but far enough away to not interfere with my hand. I use the pushbutton QD on both ends.
