The American Revolution officially comes to an end when representatives of the United States, Great Britain, Spain and France sign the Treaty of Paris on September 3, 1783. The signing signified America’s status as a free nation, as Britain formally recognized the independence of its 13 former American colonies.

The Treaty of Paris was ratified by the Continental Congress on January 14, 1784.

 
And all this time I thought the Treaty of Paris was when the French handed over the keys to the city to the nazis in 1940…
That was probably another one! Along with the end of WW1 and the Franco-Prussian War and the Napoleonic Wars! Actually, I have no idea if any of these were a T of P, but they might have been…France has been in a LOT of wats…
