Shooting a Moving Target: Should You Dial or Hold?

The built in range finders/windage bars are hard to beat, particularly in high end military optics.
Depends. The speed of the target/terrain/how long will the target be in view/what is your skill/confidence level, do you regularly practice dialing in and can you do it by feel without losing your sight picture? It can be done, but generally, can be done better with hold. Rapid follow up shots with changing distances/windage is not so easy on dial.

OK…here we are talking about “long range” targets, 500-1200 meters?. How fast is this target moving to warrant a correction. Then once in, did the target move again? Unless you have a very fast moving target, moving directly away from you, the scope should be on target. Holdover on a moving target is chancy, but the best option, IMO.
