Should I upgrade to Hellcat Pro?

John P

I have the original Hellcat OSP (don't have red dot) and was considering upgrading to the Hellcat Pro. I really like the Hellcat and have the 11, 13 and 15 round mags. I do find it a bit snappy and was wondering if the Pro would be easier and more enjoyable to shoot.
This pistol would be strictly for CC, so the way the Pro carries as opposed to the Hellcat as well as the way it shoots is my main concern.
I know I could just stay with the Hellcat and use the 15 rd mags, so I am wondering if the upgrade to a longer slide and fixed grip length is worth it, especially during the Springfield Gear Up promo. So, I'd appreciate comments form forum members who have experience with both.
Thanks!

To me I would say no. You will get next to nothing for the used Hellcat and pay top dollar for the new one. Just keep what you have and be happy with it.

It would not be for a trade in or sale. I would probably give the original Hellcat to my nephew.
I was just wondering if there was any appreciable benefit of the Pro over the standard Hellcat for CC as far as shootability, recoil and accuracy are concerned.

I have the Hellcat non OSP, Hellcat RDP and recently bought the Hellcat Pro. Additionally I have the Sig P365; P365XL S&W Performance Center Shield 3.1" in 9mm, 40, 45 and the Performance Center Shield 4". If you notice the pattern, I'm starting to lean towards a bit longer barrel/slide on these pistols for a bit better sight radius, and extra capacity without extending the grip too much more than the micro compact versions for conceal carry.
It's a matter of preference, if you want it get it. The OG Hellcat is fine, It is my CCW until I get holster for the ones mentioned above. I do like the U dot sights and I'm able to pick it up a bit faster than say the Sig P365. Just my opinion.
