I would have to do this sort of thing at my brother in laws range up in ME. You would get a talking to if you double tapped anything at my range. Good article though.

The indoor range that I go to when I can doesn't allow these kind of drills. No draws from a holsters.

My local range allows a "holster certification" for concealment practice. Just run through a few drills with one of their ROs so they know you're not some meatball...and they'll let you move the bench out of the way for holster-fire if you want.

I do my holster-draw practice at home (4 acres and a good backstop), but come winter weather I may ask them to certify me for indoor practice...

I feel your pain. No holster draws on the inside or outside ranges. Everything slow and steady for safety reasons.
