Springfield XDM 10mm

Does anybody know why Springfield discontinues the XDM pistols in 10mm with the 4.5" and longer barrels? Also are they going to be coming out with a new replacement for these guns soon. I hate to have to buy a Glock 20 gen 4 and change the barrel, trigger and sites to have a gun I want. Thanks

I do believe it was because the have them in the Elite line.

Seeing how the standard XDM line is no longer listed on the website. I would assume at some point they would release an xdm elite in 4.5 in 45 ACP and 10 mm at some point. Just might mean you will have to wait awhile before you can buy one. I have heard 0 information that they will or when it might happen. Just an assumption based on what has transpired with all the changes in their lineups.

I have carried my xdm threaded barrel in the woods not bad but I do prefer having it in a crossdraw holster especially if I am carrying a rifle as well. My go to these days has been my RO compact for woods carry and occasional ccw. I am still surprised Springfield hasn’t redone this version in the Ronin or other lineups. The officer frame and ramped 4-inch barrel is a nice combo. I can’t really think of another company that offers that specific combination.

Thanks for the replies I hope they bring a 4.5" barrel model back. I don't like the short barrel and grip on the compact. I want one for carrying in the woods.
I understand your desire for a bigger framed and longer barreled gun in the 10mm platform but in reality the .7 difference in the barrel and the availability of the extended magazines for the compact version still makes the gun a great shooter, I really like mine.
