Stand your ground

This might make a difference, maybe not, but ... Marcus Lamonis, owner of Camping World, at one time made a very public statement that he and his companies had no need for anyone who voted Trump in 2016. It was obvious he was disappointed Trump had won and like many famous folks he thought he could say it and not feel any repercussions. However, he did see a quite a 'kick back' from not only campers, but from the general public at large. He later came out with a PSA and a pretty big ad campaign about how he really didn't mean it the way it came out and he was apologizing to anyone/everyone who might have been offended. In other words, he saw a severe drop in business over a pretty short period of time.

I was an RV'er at the time (had been for many years) and spent many $$$'s in his establishments across the country whenever we needed something for the TT's and Motorhomes up till this happened. Then I went on a one man boycott until way after he apologized, but primarily because he had the most stores across the country with better inventories. The wife said "What the hell", we're only going to be doing this for another few years ... it just ain't worth the aggravation constantly trying to find what we need at some unknown/little known store/dealer when we know he has it. So, in name of fairness, since he did apologize ... and in the name of simplicity since he had the most inventory ... and in the name of costs of divorce attorneys since that's where we were going to end up if I didn't relent ... I manned up and accepted his heartfelt apology and we happily motor homed/RV'd on for another 3-4 years.

And all the above goes without saying that Marcus Lamonis also owns all Good Sam Enterprises.

Hi,

To quote the article...

"The 2022 California Building Code adopted by San Joaquin County requires a building permit for a flagpole over a certain height," the statement began. "The Camping World flagpole is 130 feet in height, and therefore requires approval by the Zoning Administrator and a building permit."

I was living in Southern California at the time, just not in the San Joaquin Valley, although I used to live there. I never voted for this building permit restriction. Who made this "code" a law? Jus' askin'. ;)

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

While political theatrics of the guy aside, the way news media words and implies stuff is why we can’t have nice things.

So they didn’t obtain the permit and California being all about permits wants their $$

Wether it’s Fox getting folks worked up over a flag something or CNN/MSNBC over what a Canadate with an R behind them said with the left if folks would research it before running with it at face value we’d have nicer things!

i cannot answer to the guys political beliefs, but i can answer to permits and codes.

as only 1 example here in my city, i am not sure of my entire state, but i can build a 6 foot tall fence with no issues.

8 feet tall...?? permit required.

end of that...no debate, no discussion.

so if it's in city/town/county/state code, that he needed a permit, and did not have one?

then he was in violation of the code.

i don't think it's that no one wants the flag to be flown, that's un-American, and GTFO if anyone is.

compliance to code is everyone's responsibility, whether one be a homeowner or business owner.

hell even the contractors should know codes before taking on such a job.
