Strikeman Laser Dry Fire Systems

Model 457

Custom
Has anyone used these? Is there a better brand I should be looking at? My desire is to use something like this system to do a pre range "rough" site in.

I have the Strikeman system.

The cartridge in 45 ACP is nowhere near accurate enough to do a rough sight in in my experience.
My 1911 Cold Cup shoots actual ammo about 8 inches left and 8 inches low when the sights are set for the Strikeman cartridge for dry fire. (at 25 yards compared to dry fire at about 25 feet)

They do have a new SmartShot cartridge. in 9mm, 380 and 223/5.56 that they say has a 1 MOA accuracy.

1MOA accuracy with custom glass lens- every unit precision-calibrated
Rechargeable- insane battery life and no more annoying coin cells
Space-age, glass infused nylon polymer - like your favorite pistols - for solvent resistance and durability superior to brass

Hi,

I've found the G-Sight ELMS cartridges to be pretty accurate when I want to adjust an optic or rear sight in my (10 yard) basement laser range before shooting live.

Accuracy testing video:

I have several 9mm and .45ACP units from G-Sight, both the ELMS and "value" Quantum series. I think they are great training aids, and fun with friends and family.

I also have a MantisX unit which gives you more feedback about muzzle position during trigger pull. MantisX can be used with laser cartridges/dry fire or live fire.

Thank you for your indulgence,

Hi,

I have been looking at the G-site ELMS, for when the firing ping bumper wears out in my cartridge, good to know it is more accurate than the Strikeman.

The ELMS comes with extras, o-rings, batteries, and back pads. Ordering replacements make the units last forever.
